Ahead of the NATO Summit to be held in Turkey, at a time when war policies are being intensified, military spending is being increased, and new conflict scenarios are being discussed, we believe it is more urgent than ever to scale up the struggle against these trends and to strengthen women's international solidarity. For this reason, as Ekmek ve Gül (Bread and Rose), we are coming together in an online webinar on June 20th, along with women journalists, academics, researchers, and activists from the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.
We will discuss the impacts of war on women's lives and the methods of struggling against them through the experiences and testimonies of women from the Middle East, who experience the most direct and burning effects of war, as well as women from European countries where mass anti-war protests are taking place and war budgets are being passed through parliaments.
We invite all women to join this gathering. Let us meet on June 20th to unite women's voices across borders for peace and solidarity.
